Rensselaer- A Chicago man identified as Davaughn T. Credit, 21, is charged with Level 1 felony child molesting after an 11-year-old girl was tracked to Rensselaer and later disclosed during a forensic interview that Credit put his hand and “private parts”into her vagina, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Jasper County.
On November 24, 2025, an Illinois mother contacted police to report her 11-year-old daughter missing. She stated the child left home without permission on November 21, and she used Life360 to track the girl’s cellphone. The location showed her daughter was in Rensselaer, Indiana, and family told her the child “may be with Davaughn Credit,” the affidavit states.
The child was located in Rensselaer on the evening of November 22 by an adult sibling. According to the affidavit, she appeared “either high or intoxicated,” and she was transported to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital for evaluation.…
