17-year-old charged in stabbing at Northwest Side Burger King

CHICAGO (WGN) — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly stabbing an employee at a Northwest Side Burger King on Friday morning.

The suspect was taken into custody just before 9:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of W. Belle Plaine Ave. He has been charged with aggravated battery and use of a deadly weapon.

Police say a 24-year-old employee was inside the fast-food restaurant, located in the 6400 block of West Irving Park Road, when he tried to de-escalate an altercation just after 8:30 a.m. He was attempting to get the suspect to leave.
