Chicago Man Charged With Multiple Firearm Felonies Following I-94 Traffic Stop In Porter County

Rayshawn Raymond Jacox, 26, of Chicago, is facing multiple felony firearm charges and a misdemeanor drug charge following a traffic stop and vehicle search on Interstate 94 in Porter County.

Indiana State Police were parked in a crossover on eastbound I-94 near the 18.1 mile marker around 7:20 p.m. on December 15, 2025, when a white 2021 Chevrolet Equinox was observed traveling 92 mph in a posted 70 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted near the 19.9 mile marker.

As the trooper approached the vehicle, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected. The front-seat passenger was identified as Jacox and was observed with marijuana residue all over his lap. The driver admitted to speeding.
