Two men were wounded when a quiet South Side sidewalk turned into a shooting scene Saturday afternoon, according to Chicago police. The attack happened around 2:57 p.m., when someone opened fire as the pair stood on a sidewalk in the 8900 block of South Loomis, authorities said.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, and a 22-year-old man was struck in the right arm. Both were taken to Christ Hospital and were listed in good condition, police said.
What police said about the attack
Chicago police told FOX 32 Chicago that two unknown men got out of a silver SUV, approached the victims and fired multiple shots before fleeing southbound on Loomis. The station reports that the victims were standing on the sidewalk when the shooters opened fire.
