Second man charged in ‘brutal’ Red Line robbery in the Loop

A second man is now charged in connection with a “brutal” summertime robbery of a man aboard a Red Line train in the Loop. Chicago police arrested Curtis Freeman, 18, on Monday on charges tied to the August 13 attack, according to a Chicago Police Department statement. He is scheduled for a detention hearing on Tuesday.

Prosecutors allege Freeman and a 28-year-old parolee, Nathan Emerson, were among several people who “brutally attacked and punched” a 42-year-old man aboard the train around 7 a.m., according to a detention filing.
