A 17-year-old male has been charged with armed robbery involving a firearm, according to a press release from the Chicago Police Department. The juvenile was apprehended by the Citywide Robbery Task Force on the morning of January 7, 2026.
The arrest occurred on the 9800 block of S. Oglesby Ave., where the young male, whose identity is withheld due to his age, was taken into custody without further incident. He is suspected to be one of the individuals who, on August 30, 2025, at 1:15 p.m., was involved in a robbery at gunpoint of a 28-year-old man in the 900 block of W. Lake St. in the 12th District.
Following the arrest, the offender was charged with a single felony count – Robbery – Armed W/Firearm.
