Englewood Driver Shot in Head Slams Car Into Light Pole, Cops Say

An afternoon drive on the South Side turned violent Sunday when a 24-year-old man was shot while behind the wheel in Englewood, sending his car into a light pole and leaving him fighting for his life. The shooting happened around 2:13 p.m. on the 700 block of West 74th Street, according to police. He was transported in critical condition to the University of Chicago Hospital for emergency treatment.

Police: Driver Hit in Head Before Crash

The Chicago Police Department told FOX 32 Chicago that the man was struck in the head while driving, then lost control of the vehicle. The car slammed into a nearby light pole on the 700 block of West 74th Street, police said, and the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
