Renee Good’s Family Hires Chicago Firm to Investigate Fatal ICE Shooting

A week after Renee Good was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis, her family hired the Chicago-based law firm that also represented George Floyd’s family to conduct a civil investigation into the shooting.

“What happened to Renee is wrong, contrary to established policing practices and procedures, and should never happen in today’s America,” Romanucci & Blandin, the firm representing Good’s family, said in a statement.

This action comes after a Justice Department official said the department does not believe there is currently any basis to open a criminal civil rights investigation into the killing of Good. An FBI probe is ongoing…
