This Prime Riverfront Site Between Lincoln Park And Bucktown Just Won Official Approval For 3,000 New Homes And A Massive Central Plaza

A large development project is set to bring thousands of housing units, along with retail, office space, and public amenities, to the northern section of the former Lincoln Yards site.

According to BlockClubChicago, the Chicago Plan Commission approved a plan to transform the northern half of the former Lincoln Yards development site into a mixed-use community. This new community will feature more than 3,000 residential units, new riverfront parks, and a central plaza accessible to all neighborhood residents.

A new future for Lincoln Yards

The 31-acre riverfront site, now called Foundry Park and located between Lincoln Park and Bucktown, will include a diverse mix of apartments, townhomes, condominiums, affordable housing, and neighborhood retail, highlighted by a 520-foot tower.
