Chicago attorney from Massey settlement hired by Renee Good’s family

SPRINGFIELD — One of the attorneys involved in helping negotiate a settlement between the estate of Sonya Massey and Sangamon County is helping launch a “civil investigation” into the fatal shooting Renee Nicole Good by an immigration enforcement agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.

Antonio M. Romanucci of Chicago said he and other attorneys intend to take legal action against the federal government.

Romanucci and civil rights attorney Ben Crump mediated the $10 million out-of-court settlement for the Massey family, believed to be the largest single payout in the county’s history, in 2025…
