Washington, D.C. – The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of a major winter storm expected to sweep across much of the United States from Friday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 25, bringing widespread heavy snow, dangerous ice, and sub-zero wind chills into early next week.
According to the NWS Weather Prediction Center, an expansive winter system will form over the Southern Rockies and Mid-South before advancing toward the East Coast.
