Person hit and killed by Blue Line train in the Loop

A person was hit and killed by a CTA Blue Line train Tuesday morning in downtown Chicago, disrupting service for nearly two hours.

Police said, shortly before 9 a.m., an unknown male was hit by a Blue Line train at the Washington stop. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but his name and age were not immediately available.

The Chicago Transit Authority said Blue Line service was suspended between UIC-Halsted on the West Side/Eisenhower Expressway branch and Grand Avenue on the northwest branch to O’Hare International Airport after the victim was hit.
