Far South Side Drive-By Turns East Side Parking Lot Into Killing Ground

A late-night gathering on Chicago’s East Side turned deadly early Saturday when a drive-by shooting left a 29-year-old woman dead and another woman wounded, according to police. The two women were standing in a parking lot when a blue car rolled past and someone inside opened fire, investigators said.

Both victims were taken by paramedics to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Police said the 37-year-old woman was shot in the leg and was listed in good condition.
