Chicago, Illinois – A death investigation led to traffic disruptions early Monday after a man was found unresponsive in the South Austin neighborhood on the city’s West Side. Authorities confirmed that the discovery prompted the temporary closure of a major expressway off-ramp during the early morning hours.
Police said officers responded to the 5500 block of West Flournoy Street at approximately 2:07 a.m. after receiving reports of a person lying in the street.
Man Found Unresponsive in South Austin
According to officials, officers arrived near West Flournoy Street and Central Avenue and located an adult male who was unresponsive. The area is just steps from Loretto Hospital and directly in front of Austin Outpatient Pharmacy, placing the incident in a visible and active part of the neighborhood.
