There are some legendary concert venues in Illinois, but unfortunately, some have closed. I just heard some great news: a classic theater is making a comeback.

Since I work in radio, I’ve been lucky enough to attend thousands of concerts literally in my lifetime. It doesn’t hurt the fact that I love going to see live bands. I get the question all of the time. What’s the best show you’ve ever seen? I’ve had so many amazing experiences, it’s hard to name just one. There is a time that really sticks out. That was seeing ZZ Top film their episode of VH1 Storytellers at the Congress Theater.

The Congress Theater was a legendary concert venue in Chicago. I’ve seen so many cool shows there through the years. In fact, that’s where Riot Fest got its start. Unfortunately, it wasn’t taken care of properly, and the building wasn’t kept up to date. It eventually became condemned. Several different groups have tried to get it back into shape, but none have been successful until now. Check out the special announcement below…
