WADSWORTH, Ill. (WFRV) – Authorities say two people from Wisconsin are dead and another Badger State resident is hurt following a crash in Illinois on Thursday morning.
According to a release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (Illinois), deputies, along with local fire personnel, responded around 7:50 a.m. to Route 173 to the west of North Kilbourne Road in Wadsworth, Illinois for reports of a head-on crash involving a semi-truck.
Officials say a preliminary investigation showed that a 2009 Acura sedan was traveling east on Route 173, with witnesses attesting that they saw the vehicle appearing to have difficulty staying in its lane before drifting into the path of and hitting a semi-truck with a 35,000 pound load head-on.
