Newly surfaced video shows how close bystanders came to being struck during Tuesday night’s shooting in Rogers Park, capturing nine shots fired beneath a Howard Street overpass as pedestrians scrambled and a storefront’s glass door shattered.
The 36-year-old man wounded near Howard Street and Paulina Street around 9:22 p.m. has twice been sent to prison for shootings, according to court records. He remains in critical condition. CWB Chicago does not identify crime victims by name.
In the video, two cars are seen parked facing south on Paulina Street with their hoods raised, apparently with one jumping the other’s battery.
