After 10 Years, A Beloved Chicago Brewery Is Closing Its Doors For Good—Here Is When You Can Grab One Last Pint

It has become increasingly clear that, for various reasons, today’s younger generations are showing less interest in alcohol. This shift is impacting Chicago’s businesses, as the city is set to lose a cherished brewery.

After nearly a decade of operation, Whiner Beer Company, an establishment in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, has announced that it will close its brewery and taproom at the end of March.

The South Side staple is closing for good

The brewery shared this news on Instagram, stating, “The last few years have been incredibly challenging, but we gave it our best shot.” They went on to say, “While we could list numerous reasons for our closure, it’s a familiar story in the brewing industry.”

They expressed gratitude for being part of Chicago’s craft beer scene, which is considered one of the best in the world, saying, “Working alongside countless creative individuals is what makes craft beer so special.”

The brewery also thanked its supporters: “From our taproom regulars on the South Side to our Le Tub fans on the North Side, we are deeply grateful for your support.”…
