Plane departing from Dane County Regional Airport crashes in Chicago suburb

DEERFIELD, Ill. — A plane departing from Dane County Regional Airport crashed outside Chicago Wednesday night, the FAA said.

The Cessna T210 was headed to Chicago Executive Airport and crashed at around 9:45 p.m. in unincorporated Deerfield, Ill. The pilot, who was the only person in the aircraft, died at the scene.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the plane hit the roof of a townhome and two gas meters, causing a small gas leak. Nobody on the ground was injured and the leak was brought under control by Nicor Gas officials…
