Jackknifed semi with wheels dangling shuts down lanes on I-290 in western suburbs

A semi truck traveling on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) eastbound in Chicago’s western suburbs became jackknifed Thursday morning, Illinois State Police said, with wheels dangling through overpass and major traffic impacts for the morning commute.

The crash came amid heavy, widespread fog across the Chicago area, with a dense fog advisory in place, low visibility and officials warning of dangerous driving conditions.
