The family of a 24-year-old woman shot and killed in Chicago’s Little Village last year is demanding justice in her unsolved murder, and community members are hoping to drum up new leads in the case.
On Saturday morning, volunteers with Cook County Crime Stoppers went door to door in Little Village, passing out flyers about the unsolved murder of Itzel Gomez.
“Here she was working, going to school, and I feel for them,” said executive director Paul Rutherford, Cook County Crime Stoppers. “I have a 23-year-old daughter, and I could just imagine if something ever happens to her in this instance, I’d be traumatized for life.”…
