20-Year-Old Accused Of Turning Air Rifle On His Own Family in Bridgeview

A tense late-night standoff in Bridgeview ended with a 20-year-old man in handcuffs and his family safely outside, after police say he pointed a weapon at his mother and a 13-year-old boy inside a home in the 7800 block of Oketo. A 17-year-old relative escaped the house and walked to the Bridgeview police station to get help, kicking off hours of negotiations involving SWAT officers. Police say the man eventually surrendered and a weapon was recovered. No injuries were reported.

How police were alerted
