Another man arrested after string of video gaming terminal burglaries in Oak Lawn

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WGN) — Oak Lawn police have announced another arrest in connection with burglars targeting video gaming terminals (VGTs) across the area.

The department says 18-year-old Antoine Smith, of Chicago, is charged with a burglary attempt in nearby Summit. Smith also faces charges linked to two more alleged burglaries: a Jan. 8 break-in of La Cocina De Mama Restaurant in the 5700 block of W 95th Street and a similar offense in Worth.

The arrest comes amid Oak Lawn police’s active probe into similar VGT burglaries in the area.

Last Thursday, Oak Lawn police announced charges against 19-year-old Juelz Johnson. The department said Johnson was among a group that burglarized the La Cocina De Mama Restaurant. Johnson is also linked to a break-in at Hashtag 95 Restaurant, located at 6260 West 95th Street…
