Englewood Activist, Neighbors ‘Furious’ After Robber Takes Food From Community Center

ENGLEWOOD — Tamar Manasseh was home sick with pneumonia Monday when she received a call from a volunteer at the Block Academy.

Manasseh, founder of Mothers Against Senseless Killings, established the community resource center out of shipping containers at the corner of 7500 S. Stewart Ave. in 2019. The MASK Block Academy provides daily meals for schoolchildren and families impacted by the suspension of food assistance programs through the organization’s Tiny Kitchen Project.
