After Nearly A Decade Of Waiting, This $9.6 Million Pedestrian Bridge Is Finally Breaking Ground Near Chicago

Nearly a decade after its initial discussion, the Mount Prospect pedestrian bridge connecting Meadows Park and Melas Park is closer to becoming a reality.

According to the Daily Herald, the Illinois Department of Transportation anticipates opening construction bids on April 24. Once the bids are awarded, the construction is expected to be completed by next year.
