2 men stabbed, badly injured on Red Line train

Two men were stabbed while riding a CTA train on the South Side overnight, the latest in a string of violent attacks targeting riders across the city’s train system.

CPD responded to the 47th Street Red Line station around 1:26 a.m. after a male assailant approached the two male victims aboard a train car and got into a verbal argument, according to a police statement. During the altercation, the attacker pulled a sharp object and stabbed both men in their necks, police said.

EMS took the victims to the University of Chicago Hospital, where they were listed in fair condition. Their ages have not been released. CPD did not release a description of the assailant or say where he went…
