A 25-year-old man found bleeding and face-down on a Northwest Side street corner early last week has died, and sources familiar with the investigation say he appears to have been beaten to death.
Alexander Kazanowski, of the 4000 block of West Nelson Street, was found unresponsive at the corner of Belmont and Harding avenues in Avondale at about 3:15 a.m. on March 24 after a passerby noticed blood around his head and called 911, according to sources and Cook County Medical Examiner records.
