The Evanston/Skokie District 65 school board voted March 23 not to renew the contract of Lincoln Elementary School principal Amber Samuels. She will serve through the end of the school year but will not return for next school year, according to the resolution approved unanimously by the board.
That resolution, obtained by the RoundTable through a Freedom of Information Act request, cited “reports and recommendations” from Superintendent Angel Turner and “members of the administration” that indicated the board should dismiss Samuels, who is a non-tenured administrator. The resolution did not say anything about cause or misconduct.
