Cops Nab Teen After West Side Gunpoint Carjacking On Harrison

Police say an 18-year-old Chicago man was taken into custody Wednesday morning, just hours after a woman was ordered out of her car at gunpoint on the city’s West Side. The carjacking happened in the 3300 block of West Harrison Street, and authorities say the 30-year-old victim was not seriously injured.

Police say suspect arrested within 12 hours

According to FOX 32 Chicago, police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Tyjuan Saffold. He was arrested around 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, which officers told the station was less than 12 hours after the reported carjacking on West Harrison.

FOX 32 Chicago reports that Saffold faces one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and two felony counts related to possession of a controlled substance.
