The Dodge County Sheriff is suing the woman and a Cook County commissioner who claimed she was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at O’Hare International Airport, and later brought to the Dodge County Jail. In March Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison announced that Sundas “Sunny” Naqvi, was detained at O’Hare International Airport, and brought later to the Dodge County Jail, along with five others. At a press conference Friday Schmidt, said Naqvi was never booked or detained in Dodge County. “These allegations are serious, but they are not supported by evidence. We have reviewed the records, we have established the timeline, and the facts are clear—this did not happen,” Schmidt said. “Our responsibility is to ensure the public has accurate information and confidence in the integrity of law enforcement.”
