CHICAGO, Illinois — A dangerous stretch of severe weather is unfolding across the central and northeastern United States this week, with meteorologists warning of a “high-impact severe weather threat” that includes the risk of tornadoes near densely populated areas like Chicago as storms intensify from Tuesday into the weekend.
