Ground stop issued at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport due to thunderstorms

A ground stop was issued for planes arriving to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday afternoon due to thunderstorms, according to the FAA.

Around 2:50 p.m., a ground stop was issued for all departures to O’Hare as thunderstorms rolled through the area. The ground stop is scheduled to continue until 4 p.m. but the probability of extension was medium, according to the FAA.

As of 3:45 p.m., there was no impact to flights at Midway Airport from the storms…
