EDWARDSVILLE – Prosecutors charged a Chicago man Thursday with allegedly stealing more than $60,000 from Terrace Cannabis Dispensary in Alton through deception.
The case prompted the Alton Police Department to remind businesses and residents to “slow down and verify requests involving money transfers, cash pickups, gift cards or urgent financial demands.”
“If something feels unusual, stop and independently verify the request using known contact information,” an APD statement warned. “Involve a trusted family member, friend, supervisor, or law enforcement before taking action.”…
