Ludlow Mayor Sarah Thompson has issued the following statement so citizens can understand the budget that gets its final hearing and vote on Monday:
The Ludlow City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget after making approximately $680,000 in additional reductions to the budget I proposed.
These reductions came on top of changes made during Wednesday night’s meeting, when Council directed approximately $360,000 in additional funding to the Fire Department at Council’s request, while simultaneously removing $150,000 that had been budgeted for the Hollingsworth Field athletic lighting project.
