Colerain Township man shot, killed on Father’s Day; family pushes for answers

COLERAIN TWP., Ohio (WXIX) – A family says a Father’s Day phone call turned into a nightmare after 41-year-old Johnathan Bunting was shot and killed Sunday afternoon.

A Colerain Township spokesperson said officers responded to Butterwick Drive Sunday afternoon, where Johnathan was involved in a physical altercation with someone he knew. During that altercation, he was shot. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

‘He would do everything he could do for his children’

Johnathan’s brother, Luther Bunting, said the day began with a routine Father’s Day call. Johnathan told him he planned to visit his two children, ages 11 and 13, and was picking up Swedish Fish and apples for them…
