Abigail Miller has resigned from her seat on the Ludlow City Council as of June 11, and now the city is soliciting letters of interest from city voters to fill the vacancy.
Miller delivered her letter of resignation via email on June 11, but the state requires resignations to be signed, so she came into the municipal center on June 24 to sign the letter, according to the city clerk. Miller had missed at least six regular city meetings (the city doesn’t take attendance for caucus meetings) this year before June 11 when she delivered her letter, according to the clerk.
Miller did not offer an explanation in her letter. It’s a single sentence long: “I resign my position as Ludlow City Councilmember, effective immediately.”
