Cincinnati Music Festival: Everything you need to know

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The annual Cincinnati Music Festival kicks off Thursday, July 23, and thousands of jazz, R&B and hip-hop enthusiasts are expected to be in the Queen City.

The festival will feature performances from artists such as Mary J. Blige, Charlie Wilson, Trey Songz, Talib Kweli, Doug E. Fresh, and more.

Organizers say the festival generates $107 million in economic impact for the city and represents the city’s largest tourism weekend of the year.

Thursday, July 23: Hip-Hop tribute opens the festival

The festival opens Thursday at 7 p.m. with a Tribute to Hip-Hop inside Paycor Stadium’s CareSource (formerly East Club) Lounge. The Thursday night concert inside the lounge is new for this year. Performers include:

  • Talib Kweli
  • DJ Spinderella
  • DJ Vader
  • Hi-Tek

Nationally syndicated host Rickey Smiley will broadcast his morning show live from Fountain Square both Thursday and Friday, July 23-24, from 5 to 9 a.m.

Friday, July 24: First full concert night

The first full concert night begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Paycor Stadium. Performers include:

  • Ledisi
  • 803 Fresh
  • Nelly (special guest)

Saturday, July 25: Walk of Fame induction and festival finale
