Cincinnati is about to get another major dose of pharmaceutical manufacturing, with Resilience and Eli Lilly announcing a $750 million expansion expected to create at least 400 high-skilled jobs across the region. The project will bring production of Lilly’s KwikPen injectable devices for diabetes and obesity medicines to Southwest Ohio, adding another big chapter to the region’s fast-growing life sciences story.
The expanded partnership, first established in 2023, will increase domestic production of Lilly medicines at Resilience’s Cincinnati-area operations, according to Business Wire. Site preparation is already underway, with full operations expected to begin in early 2027.
KwikPen Manufacturing Is Coming To Southwest Ohio
The new work will focus on Lilly’s KwikPen injectable device, which is used with medicines treating diabetes and obesity. Resilience said the added production will bring its total Ohio job creation to more than 1,400, while its Cincinnati-area facilities currently employ nearly 1,000 people across manufacturing, operations, quality and regulatory roles.
The timing follows Lilly’s push to expand access to its newer delivery formats. In February, Eli Lilly and Company announced FDA approval of a four-dose Zepbound KwikPen for single-patient use, giving patients another way to receive the company’s obesity treatment.
