CINCINNATI (WXIX) -We finally get a chance to catch our breath Friday evening. Most of the Tri-State stays calm and dry through the rest of the evening, and after the week we have had, take advantage of it. Patchy fog may develop overnight, especially in areas that received heavy rain or remain saturated.
Unfortunately, we are not completely done with the active pattern. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are First Alert Weather Days as additional rounds of storms move through the region. Saturday brings the higher concern this weekend, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Some storms could become strong to severe with damaging wind the primary threat. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, especially north of downtown.
Flash flooding remains a major concern with any thunderstorm that produces heavy rain. After repeated rounds of rain this week, many creeks, streams and rivers are still running high and the ground is extremely saturated. It will not take another 5 or 6 inches of rain to cause problems. A much smaller amount falling quickly could lead to renewed flash flooding or worsen flooding still underway…
