INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A northern Kentucky city is moving forward with the removal of its Flock cameras.
In a statement obtained by FOX 56 on Monday, Aug. 24, Independence Mayor Christopher Reinersman announced the cameras would be removed, despite his belief that they play an important role in solving crimes.

Reinersman said that while he does not believe the cameras pose a threat to personal privacy, “good government requires listening to the people we were elected to serve.”
“The response has been overwhelmingly opposed to the continued use of the cameras, with very limited public support expressed for keeping them,” the mayor wrote. “We made a concerted effort to inform residents about this issue, provide opportunities for public discussion, and encourage community input. I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to attend our meetings, contact city officials, and make their voices heard.”…
