City races to track 5,000 vacant properties after teen’s fatal shooting

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A 14-year-old boy is dead after being shot outside a vacant property in East Price Hill last week.

Neighbors say they have watched people coming and going from that building for weeks — filing complaint after complaint before the shooting happened.

Now the city is working to address the issue after the vacant building registry passed in February. A five-person team is racing to document an estimated 5,000 vacant properties citywide…
