Tri-State police stop high-speed chase with PIT maneuver, arrest driver

FRANKLIN, Ohio (WKRC) – A Dayton man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a chase through parts of Hamilton and Warren counties Thursday morning. Zion Smith, 20, faces a charge of failure to comply.

The chase went through Montgomery and then up I-75, with speeds at more than 100 mph. The vehicle got off SR 123 at about 1:45 a.m. and went into Franklin.

At the Community Park roundabout, the driver tried to drive over a curb and hit a Franklin cruiser, according to police. An officer performed a PIT maneuver to bring the chase to a stop. Officers boxed in the vehicle and say they arrested Smith after a brief struggle…
