Cincinnati crime has declined in Downtown and Over-the-Rhine in 2026, but some neighborhoods are seeing increases in certain violent-crime categories.
Homicides, robberies and aggravated assaults in Downtown and Over-the-Rhine fell nearly 30% compared with 2025, according to Cincinnati crime data reported Oct. 5.
The two neighborhoods recorded 164 such crimes in 2025, compared with 115 so far this year.
Cincinnati crime falls in Downtown and OTR
The decline represents one of the sharpest improvements in violent crime among Cincinnati’s most heavily visited neighborhoods.
Property crime has also decreased in Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. Reported property crimes fell from 1,532 in 2025 to 1,216 this year, a decline of more than 20%.
