(WJW) – Chipotle — the popular fast-food Mexican grill is popping up in more and more cities.
At last count, the franchise has more than 3, 300 locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

Here in Ohio , Columbus alone has 21 locations. According to the restaurant’s website , that’s more Chipotles than almost any other city in the U.S. (and world!) The city with the most Chipotle locations is Chicago with 40 . Phoenix ties Columbus with 21.
As it turns out, Ohio must have a lot of Chipotle fans!
Ohio has almost more Chipotle locations than any other state with 230 restaurants. Only two states have more — California (457) and Texas (281.)

And if you’re wondering — well, where did Chipotle first open and get its start? It’s not Ohio, California, or Texas. According to a Bloomberg report , Chipotle was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1993 — and now has just a mere 15 locations .
