Cincinnati’s bus company said that no one was injured in the incident on Saturday morning
An elderly man appeared in a Cincinnati court on Monday, accused of firing a gun while on a bus, after a fellow passenger asked him if he had COVID-19 .
Oscar Fisher, 83, is accused of firing the gun at least three times while on the Metro bus in West Price Hill Saturday morning, after feeling “disrespected.”
Local media reported that Fisher had admitted he was never threatened, but had become upset when the passenger asked about his health.
“The defendant has obviously shown an inability to control his impulses, and inability to think through a situation,” Prosecuting attorney Dave Wood said at the hearing.
“Anybody that would pull out a firearm on a Metro bus and fire shots at someone that has not threatened them, he just felt disrespected.”
Fisher was charged with one court of felonious assault and his bond was set at $100,000, with his next court date on Feb. 6.
The Messenger approached Go Metro for further comment, but did not immediately receive a response. The bus company confirmed the shooting in a statement released to WLWT 5.
