DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Humane Association of Warren County has stirred conversation online over its newest change.
Located on Cook Road in Lebanon, HAWC is a non-profit animal organization, no-kill animal shelter and adoption center. On Friday, Feb. 2, the HAWC announced members of the public would no longer be allowed to walk through the dog kennels beginning Monday, Feb. 5.
In the announcement, the shelter claims to have made the change to lower stress and create a “more comfortable environment” for animals staying there.
Each Wednesday on the HAWC’s social media page , the shelter has a program called “Walk through Wednesday,” which will be continuing. A member of the shelter goes live, showcasing the different dogs ready to find their fur-ever home.
Alongside the live video, the non-profit is introducing “Bark Book,” a list of all available dogs awaiting adoption.
“No longer will you need to navigate kennel rows; instead, you can browse through our catalog at your own pace, exploring each dog’s profile, personality, and heartwarming stories,” HAWC said.
