CINCINNATI (WJW) – A family of hippos taking a serene nap underwater at the Cincinnati Zoo was captured in an adorable video taken in late January.

Hippos Tucker, Bibi and their son Fritz were all seen snoozing away in a video taken by Sue Meyer.

Fritz was born in August 2022 and is the younger half-brother of Bibi’s 7-year-old daughter Fiona, who in 2017 became the first hippo born at the zoo in 75 years.

According to the Cincinnati Zoo , “Hippos are able to sleep both in and out of the water. They have the unique ability to sleep underwater and surface for air without waking up.”
