Schmidt says in a release that the bill is aimed to combat rising taxes that all homeowners are experiencing across the state.

“I am committed to ensuring Ohioans are able to remain and age in their homes,” said Schmidt. “This legislation aims to alleviate the inflated tax burdens that our citizens are facing.”

Only certain homeowners would be affected, according to the bill. The online bill shows potential eligible properties would include real properties and manufactured homes owned by the same person between Jan. 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2023, among various other specifications listed in the bill.
