Update: 7:55 p.m.: Dearborn County has been placed under an “orange” travel watch due to accumulating snow on the roadways making travel more dangerous.

Dearborn County Emergency Management says road conditions have deteriorated to the point of threatening the public’s safety. Only essential travel, such as getting to and from work or emergencies, is advised while the watch is in place.

Update: 7:10 p.m.: A level 1 snow emergency has been issued for Butler County.

The snow emergency declaration means roadways have been made hazardous by blowing and drifting snow, with icy road conditions also possible, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Residents are urged to travel only if necessary. Those involved in minor auto collisions are being asked to exchange information and report the incident once the bad weather subsides.

Update: 6:20 p.m.: The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a winter storm warning for Butler and Warren counties, which will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday.
