COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A new Superman movie will begin filming in Ohio on Monday, with cameras rolling where a crew was seen building a film set earlier this month.
The DC Studios movie titled simply “Superman” is filming in Cleveland starting on Monday through July 16 and then in Cincinnati from July 17 to 18, according to northeast Ohio agency Angela Boehm Casting. The start of filming comes after NBC4’s northeast Ohio sister station, Fox 8, captured a crew building a movie set on Cleveland’s Public Square.

The set includes a generic bookstore with the letter “S” in the sign that appears to be an homage to the classic Superman font. In addition, a nearby appliance store selling “refrigerators, televisions and hi-fi stereos” is adorned with a retro aesthetic and Superman’s signature blue coloring.
